About Josh Bourne
Building the Next Generation of the Internet
Josh Bourne is the founder of Fish Creek Ventures and a leading expert in the core internet infrastructure ecosystem — the names, numbers, addresses, and governance that keep the internet running.
For more than two decades, Josh has worked at the intersection of internet infrastructure, policymaking, cybersecurity, digital identity, and brand protection. He has advised Fortune 500 companies, policymakers, and global organizations; testified before Congress; and built businesses that have helped define the modern marketplace for internet infrastructure.
Josh is the founder and general manager of Kalorama Group, the leading broker of IPv4 addresses — critical infrastructure that enables devices to connect and communicate online. Kalorama helps organizations securely acquire, divest, and monetize these assets while preparing for the internet’s ongoing transition to IPv6.
Josh co-founded FairWinds Partners in 2006 and built it into a pioneering consultancy focused on domain-name strategy, internet governance, and online brand protection. During the 2012 application round for new generic top-level domains, FairWinds submitted more than 130 applications on behalf of its clients — including more applications for branded top-level domains than any other advisory firm.
Under Josh’s leadership, FairWinds helped secure top-level domains for Bank of America, AIG, Marriott, Nike, Comcast, CBS, Eli Lilly, Dell, Major League Baseball, and scores of other global organizations. FairWinds also secured and launched its own branded top-level domain, .FAIRWINDS, and moved its website to home.fairwinds — demonstrating Josh’s conviction that custom top-level domains are practical and valuable components of an organization’s digital identity.
In 2025, Josh guided FairWinds through its acquisition by private equity firm PX3 and its portfolio company Com Laude, marking a successful entrepreneurial exit. He has continued as a director of FairWinds following the sale, helping ensure client continuity and supporting the company’s growth within a larger global platform.
Beyond his work as an entrepreneur, Josh has helped shape public policy governing the internet. In 2008, he founded the Coalition Against Domain Name Abuse, a nonprofit alliance that advocated for reforms to combat cybersquatting, protect intellectual property, and safeguard consumers online. He served as its president for nearly five years, representing the interests of major brand owners before the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) and U.S. policymakers.
At Fish Creek Ventures, Josh brings these experiences together. He leads the company’s strategy for .MAGA, combining deep technical and policy expertise with a record of identifying emerging opportunities and building successful businesses around them. His vision is to operate .MAGA responsibly while developing a secure, trusted, and valuable digital platform for its users.
Josh is a proud graduate of the University of Richmond.
